Privacy policy
LensLink Camera collects no data. Nothing about you, your device or your video leaves your local network, and there is no account, no sign-in and no analytics. This page says what the app can see and what it does with it.
What the app does with the camera and microphone
When you tap Start Camera, the app captures video from the phone's camera, encodes it on the phone and sends it over your local Wi-Fi network or a USB cable to OBS Studio on your own computer, through the open-source LensLink plugin. The camera runs only after you tap Start, the system camera indicator is on for the whole stream, and it stops on Stop, when you leave the app or when you lock the phone. Nothing is recorded on the phone and no frame is stored anywhere.
The microphone is used only while streaming and only when you turn on Send phone mic to OBS (which sends the audio to OBS as a wireless microphone) or Auto lip-sync reference (a timing signal the plugin uses to align your own microphone; it is never heard or stored).
Mirror Screen sends the phone's screen and app audio to OBS the same way, through the system broadcast picker, and stops when you end the broadcast.
Local network
The app asks for Local Network permission because OBS connects to the phone over your LAN. It announces itself with Bonjour so the plugin can list it by name, and it listens for OBS on one TCP port. It never connects to any server of ours, because there is none. Every connection is between your phone and your computer.
What is stored on the phone
Your settings (format, quality, remembered camera adjustments, options) are kept in the app's own preferences on the device and go nowhere else. Deleting the app deletes them.
What is not collected
- No analytics, usage tracking or advertising identifiers.
- No crash-reporting SDK. If you install through TestFlight, Apple may share crash logs and any feedback you send with us, under Apple's own TestFlight terms.
- No account, email address or personal information.
- No third-party SDKs at all.
The only links that leave the app open in Safari and go to the project's GitHub repository (source code and bug reports) or to this site.
Siri and Shortcuts
"Start streaming with LensLink" and "Stop streaming with LensLink" run on the device. Apple's handling of Siri requests is covered by Apple's privacy policy, not this one.
Children
The app is rated 4+ and collects no data from anyone, of any age.
